 System overview

Learning management system (LMS) is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting and delivery of e-learning education courses or training programs.Blackboard facilitates student-student and student-faculty member interaction. Blackboard users can use various tools to view the scientific material. Faculty members can build dynamic and interactive courses easily in a flexible and easy way.

Learning management system features:

1. Providing interactive tools for learner: These tools help student to interact during studying as:

A. Announcement: Receive the latest news, notifications or announcement that posted by faculty member.

B. Calendar: Notify the learner about events time. Also, the system provides a way for learners to add events.

C. Tasks: inform the learner that he has tasks to do, also allow him to organize them according to subject or to his point of view.

D. Grades: it views learner grades whether for midterms or final exams.

E. User manual: this tool provides a list of students whom are registered in the course to make them know each other.

2. Content display: the main function of the system is to provide educational content to learners

3. Contact: the system provides three communication ways between student-student and student-teacher as following:-

A. Sending and receiving emails which offer a list of students' names and emails

B. Discussion boards: asynchronous interaction tools.

C. Virtual classroom.

4. Follow up students' performance in the scientific material. The system has an easy way to provide learners with evaluation test.

5- Save faculty member time. Faculty member can create e-exam which is automatically corrected. Also, the system can collect scores from all sources (assignments-exams) and give the final results.
